512 BBi (1981)
The Ferrari 512 BBi is the direct evolution of the 512 BB and was introduced at the 1981 Frankfurt Motor Show. The additional letter 'i' in the model designation stands for *Iniezione* (injection). This model marked the transition from classic Weber carburetors to a modern electronic fuel injection system, primarily to meet increasingly strict US emissions regulations. It is the final variant of the legendary Berlinetta Boxer series before it was succeeded by the iconic Testarossa in 1984.
